My Work and Activities in Yamakoshi

はじめまして、地域を元気にする活動に取り組んでいる中澤泉（なかざわいずみ）です。

2021年から地域おこし協力隊として山古志へ移住。人生で初の田舎暮らしでした。
移住した先はコンビニやスーパーもなく、人口800人以下の限界集落。当然、都会のような便利さは1ミリもありませんでした。その代わり、季節ごとに表情を変える美しい自然、厳しい自然と共存してきた暮らしの知恵、そして「都会にはない豊かさ」が日常の至るところにある場所。

その中で大きな学びは、「昔は何もなかったから」と語りながら、経験値をたよりに何でもやってのける70代、80代のおじーやおばーの人生観。どんなマニュアルも通用しない人間力は、都会では決して学べない価値に満ちあふれています。

田舎にライフシフトしたことで、確実に新しい世界が広がりました。

しかしその一方で、地域の過疎化は待ったなしの状況。いわは超超・・・高齢化社会。地域を維持するために何かしたい！という思いから、山古志住民と山古志関係住民をつなぐ取り組みを行っています。

I’m Izumi Nakazawa, working on initiatives that support and revitalize local communities.

I moved to Yamakoshi in 2021—my first experience of rural life.
The village has fewer than 800 residents and no convenience stores or supermarkets, offering none of the conveniences of city living.

Instead, it is a place where nature transforms with each season, where people live with wisdom shaped by harsh natural conditions, and where a kind of richness absent from cities exists in everyday life.

One of my greatest lessons has come from residents in their 70s and 80s who say, “We used to have nothing,” yet accomplish almost anything through experience. Their human strength—beyond what manuals can teach—embodies values rarely learned in urban environments.

This life shift to the countryside has opened an entirely new world for me.

At the same time, depopulation and extreme aging remain urgent challenges. Motivated to help sustain the community, I am working to connect Yamakoshi residents with people who maintain meaningful ties to the area as related community members.
